claisebrook carnivale duck derby

Claisebrook Carnivale Duck Derby – 20 March 2011, Victoria Gardens East Perth

There’ll be no ducking the fun when thousands of rubber ducks hit the water and fight (or float) it out with the help of a special Duck Motivation Device to be first across the line.

Add to the mix a New Orleans style Claisebrook Carnivale in nearby Victoria Gardens with plenty of good food, music, Aussie craft stalls and loads of fun stuff for the kids and you’ve got a great family day out.

Duck adoptions are five dollars, with the first, second and third over the line winning prizes valued at $2,500, $2,000 and $1,000.

There’ll also be the spectacle of the Corporate Duck Race where sponsors will use means both fair and fowl to push their duck over the line or sink the opposition.

Companies can decorate a corporate duck with their company logo for $100 and fight off what is shaping up to be some fierce competition (there’s already talk of water canons and jet skis) to be the first name on the perpetual trophy.

There is sufficient room for about 50 stallholders to display their wares. We expect to have up to 10,000 visitors through the gates. Gates open for stallholders at 7.00am on the day of the Fair and the Fair is open to the public from 9.00am to 4.00pm.
